Install Sims 3 Mods
Before installing Sims 3 mods, you will need to make sure that the game is closed because mods will not work correctly if the game is open.
Now move to your sims 3 folder. Your all new mods and custom content will add here. Steps to find Sims 3 Folder.
- Open My Computer or My PC, and then click on Document Folder on the left side as shown in picture.
- There is an EA folder. Open it.
- Now open the Sims 3 Folder.
Download FrameWork Set Up First
To install mods in The Sims 3, you need to download the setup file first from the link https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files.
This link has a FrameWorkSetup file link.
The FrameworkSetup file is needed to configure mods and custom content. Right Click on the Download Button as shown in the below picture and save it in your computer folder Document>Electronic Arts>Sims 3. This folder you have already opened in the above steps.
Extract The Frame Work Zip File to Check New Folders
Once this setup file is downloaded, extract the zip file. After extracting the Zip folder with Winrar or any extractor on your PC, a Sims 3 Mods Folder will appear. This Mods folder contains 2 more folders, Overrides and Packages, and one Resource.cfg file.
Open the Packages folder, which will have two files one is NoBuildSparkles.package, and the other is nointro.package.
Always Manage Your All Mods Here in this Packages Folder.
Test The Mods
The No Intro package is a great way to test your .package file quickly. If you have a problem with your intro video, you will want to install the nointro.package to see if that fixes the problem.
NoBuildSparkles.package can be used to test your custom content in-game. It’s the simplest approach to make sure your material is functional and will not break your game. If no sparkles show when you build a wall or a room, alternative package format content should work as well.
Both files are compatible with all the expansions and stuff packs.
Some viruses may be triggered by the “Resource.cfg” file. This is because it is a “.cfg” file, not just because it is malicious. The file is secure to use and is required for installing mods on The Sims 3. If you are using a virus protection program, you may find a way to disable the virus protection program by disabling the “Resource.cfg” file.
In earlier versions of The Sims 3, mods and materials might be accessed in the Program Files area before the introduction of World Adventures and its patch. It is no longer counts, so don’t utilise Monkey Bars or Helper Monkey or put new custom content in Program Files.
How to Download The Sims 3 Mods and Custom Content (CC)
Download the mods from the link Modthesims.info or Nraas’s Website.
You can download all Sims mods from here, so make sure you download the mod of Sims 3. So select Sims 3 from the upper left side corner then hit the Download. Download the mod that is compliant with the new version of the game.
After downloading the mod, extract it. You must have Winrar or 7-zip to extract the mod file.
The.package file(s) should be extracted to the Folder named “Packages”. Extract all these files in the Mods folder of Sims 3. The location of the Mods folder is Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3>Mods>Packages.
Always install one mod at a time. After the completion of one mod then move to other. In this way, you will not stick to incompatibility mod problems.
Check Mod Compatibility
To begin with, you will be able to test whether your mods work by simply opening the game and clicking on the icon for your mod. If they do not operate, it is possible that they are mismatched with your patch level or an originally installed mod or that they were installed incorrectly.
When a mod conflicts with any other mod or something else, you will frequently notice glitches that make the game challenging, if not problematic, to play, for example, Sims repeatedly reboot themselves when trying to execute an activity, or the game may not load at all.
Manage Mods and CCs in Package Folder
If you use a lot of modifications or have a bunch of custom content in your Packages folder, it can be challenging to sort out what is causing your game to slow down or collapse. It is possible to convince people that things are where they are supposed to be, and it is also possible to find out what information is problematic. It would be best if you attempted to organize your possessions. Additional folders can be made to organize your content by category, creator, or any other way you choose. If you wish to make a new folder in the folder named Packages, follow the procedures below.
- Go to The Packages Folder
- Right Click there in blank space
- Click on New
- Select the Folder
- Put The Name For The Folder.
